Pacific Ice is a California company located in San Jose, specializing in the production of outdoor synthetic ice hockey rinks. With our leading edge technology, we have designed and built the largest outdoor synthetic ice hockey rink in the world with NHL style (dasher) boards. We have made it possible to play ice hockey or ice skate all year round on large outdoor synthetic ice rinks, regardless of the temperature or location. You can now play ice hockey in coastal areas, the sunbelt, the mountains, the desert, the plains/prairies, the tropics, just about anywhere.

Fact:
All synthetic ice expands and contracts during temperature fluctuations due to its chemical properties. Because of the forces of nature, at the end of a warm day, large unprotected synthetic ice surfaces (over 600 sq ft,) regardless of any locking fasteners or engineered splines that hold the ice together, will eventually give way over a period of time due to the friction between the subfloor and the synthetic ice. The result is gapping between the seams, which becomes hazardous to skaters. Pacific Ice has found a solution to this problem.
Solutions:
Pacific Ice is the first company to research, design, and develop an engineered and patented installation system, to eliminate gapping along the seams, even when the synthetic ice expands and contracts from 0 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit under the exposed sun.
We separate ourselves from the competition with a streamlined installation process which securely interlocks the ice from underneath, eliminating the need for any dowels, screws, or pins. The synthetic ice surface has a clean look and feel.
Pacific Ice has modified NHL style (dasher) boards to accommodate the synthetic ice so that it can move freely under the boards without any friction or vibration.
